Otoacoustic Emissions (OAEs)

OAEs are sounds that are produced by the inner ear in response to external sounds. This test involves placing a small probe in the ear canal and presenting sounds of different frequencies and intensities. The probe then measures the otoacoustic emissions produced by the inner ear in response to those sounds. This test is often used to assess the function of the inner ear.
